Yeahhhhh - Ella Pugazhum Iraivannukey (in Tamil) - means all Glory/Fame to God!

Our ARRahman Wins Both Oscar awards for Original Music Score and for Original Song “Jai Ho” from music by A.R. Rahman, lyrics by Gulzar.

Before coming I was excited and terrified..the last time I felt like that during my marriage
There is this dialogue from my hindi film called meri pass maa hein..which means
I have nothing but i have my mother..my mother is here..her blessings are there with me..I am grateful for her to come here all the way..

I want to thank the academy for being so kind, all the judy members. I want to thank all the crew of slumdog, gulzar, musicians from chennai and mumbai
and I want to say something in Tamil, which i normally say at every award Elaa Pugazhum Iraivanukey - God is great!

    Greatest moment for the maistro and all his fans… I was praying that he wins it as best original score as there was 4 other nominations and if he would only won it for best song, please would have said that only 3 nominations were there and 2 were for Rahman, so not a big deal.
    I jumped off my bed listening that he will receive the award for best original score…what a moment for all the Indians and Mumbai specifically. 2nd Oscar was a clean sweep by the legend.
    Best part was that All Indians got what they were being nominated for… rahman,pukutty,gulazar….
    Ice has been broken now and I believe that this will be continued regularly.
    Indian producers/directors would be under tremondous pressure to pull out what Danny Boyle has…
    ALl the best!!
    many many congo to all the Indians and off course to the Maistro himself….

    I have never actually watched any oscar from beginning till the end, but yesterday ,despite the extreme exhaustion ( after on call ) , i still kept wide awake to watch the entire show from the beginning just to get the glimpse of one of the happiest moment in our lives, seeing you getting the award. And Rahman sir, your speech was the best speech of all. Simple, elegant and so cool.     i consider rehman as a musical genious and for all those who think that its rehman who won the oscar i would like to correct ya all actually its oscar who won rehman.

    right from his first movie roja till now he has created amazing tunes. some of his tunes are copied internationally like - a french hiphop band copied his ottakadtha kattiko and they made a remake of this tamil song in french as a hiphop song, and another uzbech artist copied nagila nagila from alaipayuthey and it bcam a huge hit there in uzbech and very famous singapore pop diva copied rehmans shakala baby and again it was hit there.

    now comparing rehman with other musicians is totally weird and i dont seriously like it.

    lemme tell u how u can compare or select someone to compare with rehman.

    1. the musician music shud have sold atleast 50 million records or cassettes

    rehman has sold more than 100 million records of his film scores and soundtracks worldwide,[1] and sold over 200 million cassettes[2] making him one of the world’s all-time top selling recording artists. this info is available in wikipedia.com

    2. find a music director who can compose a tune not based on any particular culture or language.

    Music in Bombay,Roja,Yuva and on and on and on
    have been huge hits in tamil as well as in hindi

    north indians and south indians r bhai bhai coz of rehmans music.

    find someone how has knowledge about hip hop and carnatic music at the same time and at any given chance the musician shud be able to compose tracks on any given genre.

    Being a rehmaniac i seriously dont consider oscar as a big achievment for rehman thats why i say its the oscar who won rehman and its not rehman who won the oscar.
